Snow piled high along Route 28, plows throttling the pace, instincts skidding toward chaos - but Salted Folk cut through the storm. During what locals now known as the 2026 AFC Championship Storm, Catie Flynn and Pat Croke turned a freezing Sunday morning at Cape Roots in Harwich Port into something glowing, intimate, and rare. With electric mandolin, cherub vocals, and lyrics drifting like snowfall, this Field Notes entry captures a winter performance that felt as warming as it was transportive.

Josh & Friends opened 2025 for the Woodshed on Friday night though it was more like Josh & Friends & Acquaintances and Maybe People Who’ve Seen Him On The Street. Whoever was lucky enough to have shown up and smart enough to’ve stayed for the 3 set, 3+ hours of music, was categorically flattened by the sheer force coming off the stage.
